BSA Healthcare Expands Service Offerings to Include Internal Collection Agency Setup
Pinecrest, Florida, August 28, 2007 - Bettinger, Stimler, Schultz & Associates (BSA Healthcare) is pleased to
announce the expansion of its services offerings to include internal collection agency establishment. The new service will
assist large emergency medicine physician groups running internal billing companies, and external emergency medicine billing
companies in the establishment and day-to-day operation of an internal collection agency. To offer these services, BSA Healthcare
has partnered with Michael Weiner, MHA, a nationally recognized expert in emergency medicine billing, reimbursement, and bad
debt sales.
After starting and directing the infrastructure for what is now a billing system that processes in excess of 7 million new patient
visits annually, Mr. Weiner developed and directed an internal and fully licensed collection agency to support and service these
billing systems. This focus on bad debt management also evolved into the first national program to sell fully charged off medical
bad debt on a monthly forward flow basis. Both the internal collection agency and the bad debt sales program have added significant
cash flow and bottom line performance benefits to the practice management group.
"The benefits of starting an internal collection agency include improved collections, reduced collection fees, improved net yield,
and control over representation of an organization with its clients," said Jeffrey Bettinger, MD, Managing Member, BSA Healthcare.
"We recognize that today's emergency medicine billing environment often requires an all encompassing approach to proper collection of
medical provider fees. Often, recovery of unpaid medical bills is farmed out to an external collection agency when it could be more
efficiently handled by an in-house team."
